Your flight deck
The competition will consist of four tasks between 30 and 60 km long. Two tasks from Patillos flying over coastal desert range toward Los Verdes and two tasks from Alto Hospicio racing between multiple waypoints over the city landing on Cavancha beach. The competition has FAI2 status. Additionally there will be a special category for new pilots who have just started their adventure with paragliding.
Do not forget to feed your GPS with official waypoints and familiarize yourself with the unique flying conditions around Iquique.

Category open FAI2 - experts
The competition will be held during four days, with tasks of 30 to 60 km:
- two tasks racing between waypoints above the city of Iquique,
- two XC tasks with takeoff in Patillos (Salinas Punta de Lobos).
Requirements
- minimum one year experience in ongoing paragliding activity,
- international or DGAC license,
- reviewed emergency parachute,
- helmet,
- boots or shoes appropriate for the sport,
- 2 m radio with frequencies 152.740 flight, 150.550 emergency, 150.350 retrieve,
- GPS with a PC connecting cable,
- registration and payment at the time of takeoff,
- minors only with notarized permission from the parents,
- signed waiver.
Rules and regulations of the competition
The official Rules and Regulations of the Competition will be given to each pilot at the moment of registration and payment.
Category novices
Competition in this category will be held during the same four days, with tasks in the same locations as category open but with different level of complexity adjusted for novice pilots.

- boots or shoes appropriate for the sport,
- 2 m radio with frequencies 152.740 flight, 150.550 emergency, 150.350 retrieve,

- signed waiver.
The competition committee reserves the right to accept pilots to the novice category after evaluating pilots' skills and experience.
